MERSING SUNDAY RIDE

BACKSIDE PAIN!!
Beautiful Sunday and we set off to Mersing Malaysia
We meet at Kranji MRT station. Five of us, 4 phantom n 1 Honda Wave.

my bike is popular for photo taking....hehe

Woodlands custom was slightly jam on this Sunday. We waited in the Q quite awhile before we get through. It was my first time going to Malaysia with my Phantom Pandy. Those who know, i have a very wide handle bar and 2 side box with chrome frame. I am just afraid that i could not squeeze through the small lane in front of the immigration counter. The kerb is high and it almost touching my side box as the box are low. It was tough and i manage to just squeeze through the lane.
We parked at the causeway just before the Malaysia custom to take our white card. Weather looks good and quite cooling this morning. Robert and Darren are all so excited to roar the machine.

All smiles....

Malaysia custom no jam. not a single bike queuing, only the five of us. Robert recommend us a Wanton noodle stall nearby in JB. We follow him and head for our breakfast.
Nice old shop houses and good food. We are all ready to fill our stomach and have a cup of coffee.
my bike looks like....umm..

can't stop eating while talking... wanton noodle taste so good..

Delicious wanton noodle breakfast with coffee kau kau
After filling our stomach, is time to fill the machine with V-POWER RACING......!
I top up my tank around RM 13.50. Feel the power but i think V-POWER in Singapore is better. We head off to Kota Tinggi. Short ride to Kota Tinggi, so we decided not to rest... After maybe around 1 hrs of riding we took a rest at a stop over, go pee, drink water and photo taking..

The five of us.... smiling but backside pain and hand numb..
The sun just came out and we start to feel hot and we are more excited about the ride than the weather. Beautiful scenery and nice clean road to ride. No traffic, the road almost belong to us with occasional cars passing by.

Highway 66

Forget about the time, but i guess we reach mersing around 11am.... we TCSS near the beach. Photo taking again, so vain. Robert notice three girls (not in bikini) was looking at us. But our heart was on the trip... we ignore them........how stupid was us. We saw the local fisherman caught some kingcrab...

mersing beach under the coconut tree...

Kingcrab

After much needed rest we head for seafood lunch. The usual air-con restaurant was closed, so we ended up in some local coffee shop, but the food still delicious.... we enjoyed our lunch with a few bottles of beer.... woow man...!

Beer time..

Is time to do some shopping for our gf, mum and dad... local delights.. cuttlefish, salted fish, lemon honey juicy and many more.... we brought quite alot.. and basically leaving RM 20 behind for petrol. Petrol station was just beside the shop and we pump up (RM10) and all ready to go back... still feel the backside pain!!
On our way back, we stopped once near the road side, drink water... and of course take photo again.... are all those guys or what...? keep taking photos... hehe.. just kidding. Nice scenery and good weather, very important.

take five.....

Upon reaching JB we went for a coffee break... it was 5pm than. Not to late, just nice timing to come back. BUT...!! backside pain!! After coffee, we top up our favourite V-POWER RACING. RM 7 for full tank.. After that we head back to singapore....
I was separate with the others bcoz i was waiting for them at the wrong road. So i have to go back alone. The traffic near the JB custom was terrible. Big jam i have to squeeze through traffic. My nightmare came!! As i said before, i have a big side box, so at some points i cant squeeze through, but the gab still good for smaller bike. So i got horn from the bikes behind... Fuck it... so piss off..
Finally i manage to go pass all traffic and went into the bikes lane at JB custom... I keep left and exit without getting my passport chop...!! That was my 2nd nightmare.. What should i do? How should i go back to get it chop?.. I am so confused.. By the time i realise... i am at the singapore custom already.. No way to U-turn.... I proceed to enter Singapore...
Reached home 6.30pm.... BACKSIDE PAIN!!

Overall rating for this trip is 4 star

See u guys next time...

Update :

I have settled my passport issue. That's how it goes........

After 6 days coming back from Mersing without a stamp from malaysian custom, I asked my malaysian friend to pillion me back to JB. We went thru the Sin custom as per normal, checked passport and go thru. When we reached the malaysian custom, we took the malaysian bike lane, meaning that there will be no check of passport or stamp. Phew, finally back into malaysia. It was like i spended the last 6 days in Malaysia.... Took 6 days for me to reached Sin from Mersing...haha. We went for dinner in JB.. Nice dinner with Curry fish head, samba sotong, stingray and of course, BEER.... We also got to watched the Man U vs Wigan (4-0) Cheers to all Man U fans. We left for home around 11 plus.. Alittle jam near the custom.. This time I will not miss the malaysia custom again.. Get my passport stamp and went straight home.. HSH...

Communication Break Down

F**KING LOUSY SERVICE

Hell!! I was lock out from the outside world from Sunday till Wednesday.

On last Sunday, When i woke up in the morning i lost my internet connection. Thinking it was a minor problem, because i experience it before, i make a call to the Singnet broadband help desk. I explain my problem to the technician, he asked me to turn off and on the modem after 35min to reboot my connection... It doesn't work! I called again, and they said that was all that they can do! They will arrange telco technician to check my land line, which means they will come down to my place to do a physical check.

Thinking it was a Sunday, the best they can do was to arrange someone to come on Monday. I WAS TOTALLY WRONG. They said the earliest date was on Thursday! Fuck, what am i going to do without my best companion? I was getting crazy and very hot temper. I wanted their manager to give me a call..

No one call.. The next day I gave the help desk a morning call, hoping that the technician will do something to it again. Thinking it was a fresh new day, maybe the system can get back my connection. To my sadness, the technician from the other side said :' you already call us yesterday and we already arrange for our technician to go and check on thursday!' . He also said :' what you want me to do, the other technician already do for you yesterday. NO NEED to do again'. OMG, that's what a customer service technician told me! Where is the service from Singtel? i was so fucking angry. Can't they said something better knowing that the customer is frustrated at that point of time or they can actually call the backroom to try to reboot again to check.

I was angry because the arrangement for the technician to come down was far too slow. Being a state owned company, this is a bad example. And here we are talking about being a first world country where communication are very important, and such reaction is unacceptable.

Many of my friend shifted to other service provider because of their bad service and attitude that their staffs have. But when come to billing, they are super on the ball. Any late payment will cost you S$5.50. Like it or not you have to pay and cannot complain. Let say your plan are S$35, jus think for yourself the late charges is how many percent of the plan? That is 15%, better income than 'loan shark'.!!

Why they are double standard when customer are having problem? Can't they just be more efficient when they come to solving problems and faults?

For those who work at home, that was a few days of income lost! And they will never compensate you in any manner. I was sad to said that i am now bond with a contract with them, so i cannot change to another service provider. But i ensure you, coming Nov, I will get singtel out of my life.

My friend introduce me to Ah Koon to service my bike. They all said that he is the expert in repairing Phantom. After I got my bike, I went there straight away to let this so call famous Dr. Phantom to service my bike.

It was there, i started my road to mod and many time and monies spended there. It is from a hobby and now becoing a investment. More than 2K was spend and i have not got what i wanted. Comparing to another PK member 'DragonLee'. His 'Skullz is too good to be true that i have to pay tribute to his bike in my blog.

Singapore Big Bike Fest SBBF

Our Convoy

Our Convoy

My Pandy

" What a week for me "

This is the first time i participate in the SBBF. I was really excited about it and really want to make it a great day out. The event was held at Suntec City near the fountain on 15-16 Sept 07.

I just got my new side box and front wheel cover from Madman ( He sells bike accessories ) a week before the event. How can I get it fix on time? I decided to DIY as i know my regular mechanic, Ah Koon will not able to fix for me. He is always busy with servicing bikes. For accessories installation, I guess he just don't border too much especially the accessories are not brought from him.

11 Sept 07 - A hot sunny afternoon. I decided to get my side box fix. I went home around 2pm, leaving my works to the good hand of my contractors. I start getting the side box fix. First, I want to install the chrome rack. It really tough to get the rack onto the back fender's screw, and l realise that the exhaust pipe was in the way blocking the rack. I have to remove the center screw of the exhaust pipe to lower the pipe before i can get it fixed.

As the exhaust pipe was poping up to the rack, i can't fix the box right to the front of the rack. I have to push back about 4cm to get it installed. Lots of sweat and dirty hands, finally i got it all fixed up around 5.30pm. WOW.... i so happy ... but than, one more thing, my front wheel cover, how?

12 Sept 07 - I went down to Ah Koon's place and look look see see... Actually i want koon to shift my 2 side lights from my fender to my side box. Met Yas there, and he also want to get his rockstar to dress up for the event. I waited almost 2 hours to get the light shift only after i try to borrow some tools from Koon to start doing it myself. However, Koon help me to fixed it.... Ilove my purple side light.

13 Sept 07 - My bike cannot start in the morning!!! panic as how i going to join the SBBF? I push start in the afternoon and ride all the way to Koonz., bring along my front wheel cover. As usual, koon was busy doing overhaul for a few bike. I ask koon to change my battery ($38) Ex or not??.

This time i ask koon whether he can fix up my front wheel cover as i much wanted to get it up for SBBF. He rejected me saying that 2 bikes need him to complete by the next day. As usual he will say : " this thing very difficult to install, must take out wheel and brake disc". I paid him for the battery and left with my heavy heart. HOW?? No wheel cover for SBBF....

14 Sept 07 - I knock off early today, thinking how to fix the front wheel cover. Alas, I finally decided to DIY...! First time in my life to dismantle a front wheel... With some interior fitting out knowledge, I took out my car jack.... jack my bike up at my open carpark downstair.. took out my phantom tool box. grab a spanner and opened my front wheel. OMG, i didnt realise that the brake disc alan nut was so tight.... I use all my fucking strength before i get those 4 stupid nut off...!! Fixing the wheel cover was really a piece of cake. Now the best part arrived. How the hell i can put back my wheel in with only myself.... Just as hope are running low, my buddy Robert came to my rescue. with his little lift... My wheel fitted in just as nice as i wanted. Now I have my front wheel cover fixed in one and a half hour. Bravo...........

15 Sept 07 - Working in the morning.... A rainy day... How to go to SBBF with a shinny bike. I waited till 11.15am and rain stopped. I zoom to kKFC from Raffle place. I was at Republic Plaza working then. Reached kKFC.... saw a few PKs... Skullz and Pinkphantom are central of attention.

We hang around for quite a while before we move off as a convoy. Saw scooters, S4, HD and our Goldwings brothers. Short convoy., was really disappointed coz nobody was watching us!!!

Suntec was full of bikes.. we were asked to pak in front of the sponors booths. My bike was right at the front and you know what... Nobody about to look at my beautiful bike... F**K. Pinkphantom was in the competition and skullz also drew alot of photgraphers.

Even Yas got a Ang Mo lady taking photo with him... Watch some performance from VMC and got our goodie bag after 3pm... Big Bike Fest?? walk around and go home :(

Few that our PKs need more gathering to strengthen our relationship.. It like a OTOT thing to me except for the convoy.

CHANGI AIRPORT TERMINAL 3

Welcome Wall at Arrival Hall

Departure Hall outside VIP area

Arrival Hall with feature wall at background

Sneak Preview of our lastest airport terminal

I was given the opportunity to work in this terminal. It was schedule to open early next year. Everything was in place except for all the shops are not ready for the tennant to move in and do their renovation.

The layout of the terminal is rectangle naming the north wing, central and south wing. The arrival is at the first floor, departure and transit lounge at the second floor. Nice deco, the ceiling is like lourve that give certain angle to attract natural light to the lounge. Lots of greenry and glazing. Looks real big with little obstruction.

I am doing the fitting out works of the DFS (Duty Free Shop) Liqour and Tobacco outlet. 5 outlets all together, located both at the arrival and departure. Sleepless nights again...!

YOU SAW THIS MAN BEFORE?

FAIR OR UNFAIR

Saw this man trying to issue summons to some illegal parking at a housing estate. Everything was all right until I realise that he was also doing illegal parking? Those who read stomp should also know that some stomper did mention about some police petrol car doing illegal parking.

So my question is, Did civil servant have all the right to do what they want to do? Are they all protected by the laws? What and how do they behave when they take down their uniforms?

I need people to feed back and comments about what they have saw in their daily life.

MY FIRST POSTING

Not the original conditional when i brought it. I am thru the mod process.

My Fourth Bike.. after so many years

I have recently brought a bike, Honda Phantom TA200 for myself. My friend Ah Yu (Robert) jiao me la.. If not of him i will not brought it. But i guess i enjoy riding my new bike.

This is not my first bike. My first bike was a GP100, i remember was a suzuki. Later i change to a RX-K which is a Yamaha. The last bike before this bike was a Yamaha 125...

Those were the days when you go for midnight show. Stack your gang helmet at the front stage. Some famous cinema that most moto gang will go are : Prince, princess, Lido, Rex and jurong big screen. We will head to Geylang for supper and later meet at kKFC for further activities. What we normally do was go racing at "last Carpark" east coast park, "Changi Cargo" and of course the newly open Defu lane and Yishun Dam... Wow, that was during 1994 - 1997.

We will gather along the road side and watch others race because we could not have the cash to mod our bike to race with them. However, for some who did mod their exhaust pipe did contribute some noise to the environment. I was among those who making alot of noise in the middle of the night and was alway caught by TP. Escorted to Maxwell station and send bike for inspection on the following Monday. A $70 fine for illegal exhaust pipe.. Lots of money that time as i was earning $17 per day as a carpenter that time.

I remember the famous TP that time "Jimmy Loi" was like our ghost, hunting as every weekend. He would like drive a private car to "last Carpark" to check out the race and later call the TP to raid. It was exciting and cool part of my teenage life.

Love me Love my bike
